It is still a major purchase, but part of what you are paying for is the amount of upkeep it handles on its own. After each cleaning run, it returns to the dock to empty its dustbin, refill its water tank, and wash and dry the mop pads. You will still need to replace the dust bags, refill the dock’s tanks, and clean the brushes from time to time, but there is less to deal with between runs.
It is especially useful in homes where low furniture and everyday clutter tend to cause problems for robot vacuums—instead of using the raised navigation tower found on many competing models, Roborock built the sensors into the body.
